Costa Blanca - Valencia; Alicante; Murcia

Costa Blanca at 1:200,000 on a double-sided indexed road map from Marco Polo Travel Publishing, with special features to aid navigation and route planning, plus street plans of Alicante, Almeria, Cartagena, Granada, Murcia and Valencia in a booklet attached to the map cover. The map provides very convenient coverage of a large part of Spain’s Mediterranean coast, extending from Castellon de la Plana and Valencia with Costa del Alhazar across Costa Blanca to the eastern part of Andalucía with Sierra Nevada and Granada.

A fold-out extension of the map cover gives at-a-glance overview of the whole area covered by the map with the adjoining regions, highlighting main places of interest and making it much easier to find various localities on the main map and/or plan a route. A set of seven peel-on/peel-off stickers, removable without damaging the map, is provided to make routes or locations more prominent when navigating.

Cartography, from the renowned German publishers MairDumont, provides an exceptionally good presentation of the region’s landscape with plenty of names of sierras and peaks; national parks and other protected areas are prominently highlighted. Road network emphasis main roads, but also shows smaller local roads in great detail. Scenic routes are highlighted and other road information includes steep gradients, seasonal closures and restrictions for caravans, etc. Railway lines are included and local airports are marked. Locations worth visiting, including many natural sites, are highlighted and annotated with star rating. The map has latitude and longitude lines at 10’ intervals. Extensive index, in a booklet attached to the map cover, lists locations with their postcodes. Multilingual map legend includes English.

The booklet also provides street plan of Alicante, Almeria, Cartagena, Granada, Murcia and Valencia, highlighting main traffic arteries and important buildings. The map links up with the publishers’ map of Andalucía at the same scale, together providing excellent coverage of southern Spain.
